MineCity

Average number of players online: 500

We cannot express how amazing this server is. It might not be as big as some of the other servers, but from its beautiful custom texture pack to the unique game modes it offers, MineVille is unlike any other Minecraft server. Play with friends or alone in one of two unique versions of Skyblock: one with a water theme and one with a fire theme. It has an active survival server called Kingdom Survival and will soon feature Empire Survival, another variant. It also contains an amazing clone among us called Impostor, which really feels like playing a first person game among us. It also has a Prison game called Asgard Prison and a newly integrated Anarchy server. There are 6 portals marked “coming soon”. We’re already in awe and it looks like a lot more is to come.

Wynncraft

Average number of players online: 2,500

Ever wanted Minecraft to be entirely transformed into a fantasy MMORPG? Grinding, Dungeons, Gathering Resources, Stories, NPCs, and Quests. Team up with friends in guilds and fight bosses and explore a huge universe of fantastic towns, cities and more. The server is structured in the style of a giant adventure map and will not have a lot of construction. You can, however, choose your class and craft your equipment and weapons.

Hypixel

IP: mc.hypixel.net
Average number of online players: 150,000

Hypixel is going to be on the Top 10 list on a regular basis, and for good reason. It’s the biggest Minecraft server out there, and it really set the standard in a lot of ways. Typically, active Minecraft servers have between 300 and 9,000 players online at a time. Hypixel is the only server that regularly has 6 figures of players online. Play a bunch of different major games like BedWars, SkyWars, VampireZ, and Paintball Warfare, plus an arcade full of smaller mini-games. You will never be bored on this server, and almost comes across as its own game.

Complex games

IP: hub.mc-complex.com
Average number of online players: 1,500

Complex Gaming is a real hub for Pixelmon, the Pokémon-inspired Minecraft mod. They have server subsectors inspired by several real Pokémon games, from Pokémon Red to Pokémon Platinum. To play Pixelmon you will need to have the Pixelmon mod for Minecraft. That said, unlike most Pixelmon servers, there are plenty of other game modes on the server that don’t require players to install mods, like the standard Skyblock, Survival, Factions, Creative, and Prison.

Havoc MC

IP: mc.havocmc.net
Average number of players online: 300

Originally known as “The Mining Dead,” Havoc ™ is the server to go to if you want to find yourself in the middle of a zombie apocalypse survival game. Their game based on the AMC TV show The Walking Dead is the main draw of the server. It has PvE, but you can also choose to team up with friends or fight other players in PvP. That said, it’s not the only game out there anymore (hence the name change). Now there are Towny and Warzone, and two more games are coming soon: Mine Wars (a Star Wars-inspired game currently in exclusive beta for premium members) and Craft Theft Auto.

Datblock

IP: play.datblock.com
Average number of players online: 750

Some gamers might argue that Datblock doesn’t really deserve a spot on this list, and they might not be wrong, as it is a fairly standard server. It gets a pretty good pool of players online every day, but the game modes are all pretty standard. The reason he made the list is because it’s just a good stable place to play factions. There aren’t so many players at a time that it becomes impossible to start, but there are enough players that you still need to be careful and careful about where and when you claim and build. Besides factions, Datblock also offers basic draws such as creation and survival, as well as its own unique PvP game called Datearth.

The Beehive

IP: play.hivemc.com
Average number of players online: 3000

If you are looking for a solid and extremely active minigame server, The Hive is the server for you. This server has been around since early 2013 and has remained a staple in the online game Minecraft ever since. It has stayed up to date and active the entire time, and they are always updating features and adding new games like BedWars, BlockParty, and Hide and Seek. This server also has the Bukkit plugin with the Meowball. You can use a custom Blaze Rod called FunGun which throws snowballs that explode in flames and the hearts will produce the “meow” sound effect on impact called Meowballs. While it is not difficult to install meowballs on your server, it is the biggest server that allows it for all players. Throw them into the air, or to your friends, or anywhere you like in the main server hub.

Fallen kingdom

IP: play.fallenkingdom.co
Average number of players online: 200

Have you ever wished Minecraft was actually a tower defense game? You can explore what that would look like on the Fallen Kingdom Minecraft server. Inspired by the Fallen Kingdom universe, created by famous YouTuber Jordan Maron (CaptainSparklez), this server lets you choose your kingdom colors and create different raid paths. One downside is that you have to choose whether you are a king or a queen, which makes it both unwelcoming for non-binary players and inconvenient for players who may share an account with one or more people of different sexes. Hopefully a third “Royale” option will be added in the future, but the game itself is well designed and a lot of fun. The lower number of players is also not a problem, as the entire server is just one game.

CubeCraft

IP: play.cubecraft.net
Average number of players online: 5,000

If you’re looking for a bigger, active server, but Hypixel is just too much for you, Cubecraft is a fantastic alternative. Its custom texture pack has sleek designs for the lobby, and all of the game modes can be selected in a section reminiscent of a retro gaming arcade. It features games like Lucky Islands, CTF, and its own original version of the Among Us / hidden role-playing style game called Among Slimes. Note that this game mode is unique to CubeCraft different from the Imposter game on MineVille. This server is generally among the top 5 most active servers in the world.

ManaCube

IP: play.manacube.net
Average number of players online: 2,500

At a glance, ManaCube might seem like another pretty active minigame server, but it’s by far its Parkour. Its Parkour section alone has an average of around 750 players, as active as some of the other servers as a whole. There are over 1000 Parkour routes in total and vary from easy maps to almost impossible. Only 42 cards are VIP only and the server also has Dropper, which falls in a similar category. It must be said that the only downside to ManaCube is that it can sometimes be glitchy, more so than the rest of the servers on this list. That said, the contents inside were too good to be left out.
